Fortunately, the situation is not disappointing. AOL provides a simple solution that allows you to reset AOL password. If you already have a different email account or have easy access to your smartphone, you can do it

Start the reset process :

If you forget your AOL Mail login details, you can click on "Forgot Password"? The button below the dialog will start this password reset application. You must either remember your AOL username, or if you do not remember your AOL username or at least remember your AOL email address. If you do not, you can not reset your password. Once you fill them up, you will be able to type in the Captcha field. Once complete, click the button labeled "Next".

Reset your AOL password :

On the next page, you have two options: You can either reset your password using your phone, or use a different email address.

If you choose to reset your password through your cellphone, you will click on the link labeled "Text My Mobile" and enter your full phone number, then click "Send". A page labeled "Verify this is your account" will appear. Do not close it on your mobile phone and do not enter it on the page.

If you choose to reset your password using a different email address, then the alternate email address must already be your AOL profile. Simply click on the link labeled "Alternate Email Address", then select "Next", then "Close".

  

Using your mobile :

Once you have chosen to text your number, you will receive a five digit code from AOL on your phone. Type it in the box on the page that verifies that the account is yours or you can type your new password by clicking on "Submit". Once complete, you click on "Next" and you will be taken to your email account.

Using your alternate email :

If you have decided to visit the alternate email route, you should be able to use a message from AOL, where you want to click on the label labeled "Yes, I want to reset my password". A reset web page will be opened where you will type your new password twice and click "Next". You will be sent back to your email account
